About the Cascade Cup 2025

Tackle Tom’s is hosting its annual Ice Fishing Tournament. We have categories for adult single anglers, adult team anglers, and kid anglers.

Registration Information

Entry Fees

    • Adult Single: $50 per person
    • Team: $50 per person (2-person max per team)
    • Kids (Under 14 Years of Age): $20 per person

Note: No sign-ups allowed after 8am Saturday February 15th.

Tournament Categories

Adult Single Category

R

Prize will be awarded for the top perch weights, for the top three participants. Perch weights will be determined by an angler’s three (3) largest perch by weight each day, totaling six (6) perch for two days.

Only the participants with the heaviest six (6) perch at the end of the 2 days of fishing will be awarded the prize.

Team Category

R

Teams consist of 2 anglers.

R

Prize will be awarded for the top perch weights, for the top three teams. Perch weights will be determined by an angler’s six (6) largest perch by weight each day, totaling twelve (12) perch for two days. Only the top three teams with the heaviest twelve (12) perch at the end of the 2 days of fishing will be awarded the prize.

Fish must be caught by registered team members only.

R

Team participants cannot register in the Adult Single category.

Kids (under 14 years of age)

R

Prizes will be awarded for top trout by weight.

R

Kids will weigh in one (1) perch each. Prize will be awarded for top three (3) perch for largest perch by weight.

Tournament Rules & Regulations

1. Weigh-In Times:

    • Saturday, February 15: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • Sunday, February 16: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • Participants must be in the door by 4:00 PM (Saturday) and 3:00 PM (Sunday) to weigh-in fish.

2. Fishing Location: Fish must be caught through a hole in the ice on Lake Cascade.

    • Maximum Hole Size: 10 inches in diameter.

3. Legal Fishing: All fish must be caught legally under Idaho Department of Fish and Game rules.

    • Licensing: All anglers 14 years of age and older must possess a valid Idaho Fishing License.

4. Fish Weigh-in Requirements:

    • Any fish entered for prize consideration must be weighed-in by the participant on the same day it was caught.
    • No weighing in the same fish twice.

5. Tie-Breaker Rules:

    • In the event of a tie in weight, the fish brought to weigh-in the earliest will receive the higher placement.

6. Prohibited Practices:

    • Adding any foreign objects or substances to fish to increase weight (e.g., weights, filets, glass) is strictly prohibited.

7. Prize Claim Deadline: All prizes must be claimed within one (1) week of winning.

8. Disqualification Rights:

    • The tournament director has sole discretion to disqualify any fish, angler, or team suspected of fraudulent, illegal, or negligent activities.
    • Disqualified participants will be ineligible for any prizes.

9. Safety Regulations:

    • All participants must follow safety guidelines set by local authorities.
    • Ice conditions can be dangerous—each participant is responsible for checking ice thickness and safety before venturing out.
    • Participants should wear proper safety gear, such as ice cleats, flotation devices, and use ice picks.

10. Inclement Weather Policy:

    • The tournament director reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event in the case of unsafe weather or ice conditions. No refunds will be issued unless the event is officially canceled.
    • Decisions on postponements or cancellations will be communicated by 6:00 AM on the day of the tournament.

11. Refund Policy:

    • All entry fees are non-refundable, except if the tournament is officially canceled by the organizers.
    • In the event of participant withdrawal, no refunds will be provided.

12. Protest:

    • Any disputes or protests must be brought to the attention of the tournament director within 30 minutes of the official weigh-in closing time.
    • All decisions made by the tournament director are final.

13. Code of Conduct:

    • All participants must behave in a sportsmanlike manner. Any form of harassment, inappropriate language, or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in immediate disqualification.
    • Respect other anglers’ space. Maintain a minimum distance of 50 feet between fishing holes unless otherwise agreed upon by all parties involved.

14. Right to Use Likeness:

    • By participating in the tournament, each angler consents to the use of their name, image, and likeness in any promotional materials, social media posts, or advertisements related to the tournament, without further compensation.

15. Fish Verification:

    • The tournament reserves the right to verify the legality and authenticity of any fish submitted for weigh-in, including inspection for tampering, species identification, or other rule violations.
    • Any suspicious fish will be confiscated for further investigation and the angler may be subject to disqualification.

16. Team Accountability:

    • In the event of any rule violations, the entire team will be disqualified, not just the individual angler.

17. Modification of Rules::

    • Tackle Tom’s reserves the right to modify these rules and regulations at any time before or during the tournament. Any rule changes will be communicated to participants through official channels.

Rights Reserved

Tackle Tom’s is not responsible for personal injury, accidents, theft, loss of property, or equipment damage incurred during the tournament. Participation is at the sole risk of the angler, and each participant assumes full responsibility for assessing ice conditions and their own safety on the ice. Tackle Tom’s does not guarantee the safety or stability of ice conditions on Lake Cascade. It is the sole discretion of the tournament director to disqualify any fish, angler, or team suspected of being engaged in fraudulent, illegal, or negligent activities, and the angler or team may be subsequently disqualified from prize consideration. By participating, each angler agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tackle Tom’s and its representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from their participation in the tournament.
